The Dutch offshore access provider, Ampelmann, has signed a contract for a project with Seaway 7 expected to launch in 2021.
This contract marks the first contract for the company in Taiwan and it is also the first time an Ampelmann device will be deployed in Asia for an offshore wind job.
The Dutch company will be mobilized on Seaway Strashnov with one of its A-type ships, a Heavy Lift Vessel capable of raising structures up to 5,000 meters. Previously this combination was used for a similar purpose in the offshore wind sector in the North Sea.
The campaign will see about two months of offshore activity and will be conducted in an offshore wind farm (OWF) in Taiwan on Seaway Strashnov. With this project Ampelmann will be promoting the installation of jackets for the OWF during the construction process.
“Ampelmann has a lot of experience in the offshore wind sector in other regions and we are glad to be able to use those experiences to deliver a high quality service to our clients when they are entering new frontiers. We will service this project from our office in Singapore. With our local presence, we are closer to the client and the project site allowing us to mobilise swiftly and provide extensive support.”
