WP Systems tests onshore wind maintenance platform

WP Systems has tested an updated version of its SYSTEM terra work platform for use on all existing onshore turbines.

The platform was successfully displayed during a test run on one of the largest onshore wind turbines, the V150 (4.2 MW) from Vestas.

“After this successful demonstration, we will implement the modifications in our series production. This will give our customers access to the latest generation of onshore wind turbines.”

Built for onshore turbine rotor blade repair, the SYSTEM terra work platform has already been tested and used on the market for two years.

The platform, which is fully weather-protected, allows technicians to perform maintenance on the entire rotor blade all year round.

If necessary, work can also be done at wind speeds of up to 12.5 m/s.

The SYSTEM terra working platform also proved its functionality at an offshore wind turbine for the first time in early March.

A Siemens SWT-3.6 offshore turbine, which is located in the German district of Nordfriesland, served for a representative test run.

In the near future, the SYSTEM terra work platform will also meet the unique offshore requirements and is already being developed further to become the SYSTEM aqua.
