Centrica Energy Trading has signed a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Taaleri Energia for output from their operational renewable power portfolio in Finland, which totals 312 MW.
Taaleri Energia has agreed to a five-year PPA in which Centrica will phase out Taaleri’s power production at 13 sites. The agreement reaffirms Centrica’s experience and determination to support the development of renewable energy systems across Europe through the provision of route-to-market services.
“We are excited to deepen our relationship with Taaleri Energia and help them to realise their green ambitions. Being awarded its Finnish operational renewable portfolio and growing our presence in Norway is an important milestone for our route-to-market business, and demonstrates our reputation and capabilities as a leading partner in renewable energy trading and corporate PPAs”
Cassim Mangerah, managing director of Centrica Energy Marketing & Trading.
Centrica Energy Trading will be responsible for the long-term trading and balancing of one of the Norwegian wind projects in Taaleri Energia. The 10-year deal for the 33 MW project is part of the larger European renewable corporation PPA, where Centrica will provide supply services to the off-taker on behalf of the project.
This agreement is Centrica’s first corporate PPA with Taaleri Energia and is further recognition of Centrica’s leading expertise in structuring and managing corporate PPAs.
“We are pleased with these long-term agreements with Centrica. We have concluded a series of successful PPAs together and we value Centrica’s expertise and capabilities when it comes to renewable energy trading and risk mitigation.”
Taaleri Energia’s managing director, Kai Rintala.
