Bosch has inked a long-term partnership with cellcentric to supply integrated power electronics in electric air compressors. These compressors control the oxygen supply to the fuel cell system.
Cellcentric is a 50:50 joint venture between Daimler Truck AG and Volvo Group AB. It is responsible for all value chain activities. As with Bosch, the joint venture aspires to become a global leader in fuel-cell systems and thereby contribute to climate-neutral and sustainable transportation by 2050. The air compressor will be integrated into a cellcentric fuel-cell system that will be used in the future in big trucks and stationary applications. Production on a large scale is expected to commence towards the middle of the decade.
