Speaking at “Gastech 2021” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum stated that green hydrogen is one of the cornerstones of a sustainable future based on expediting the transition to carbon neutrality.
H.E. Al Tayer emphasized that the hosting of this ground-breaking global event exemplifies the UAE’s efforts to lead a rational transition to a green economy by shifting to a new energy landscape, which is one of the most essential components of clean and renewable energy sources.
H.E. Al Tayer emphasized Dubai’s experience in transitioning to renewable and clean energy, pointing out that the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority’s total clean energy production capacity has increased to around 10% of Dubai’s energy mix, with a goal of reaching 13.3 percent by the first quarter of 2022.
