The German and Australian governments have decided to fund the HyGate hydrogen project jointly. The Australian government said that about 80 million euros will be made available for financing to help speed the development of clean fuels and thereby help reduce carbon emissions.
“The first report from HySupply, our Australian-German research on the hydrogen supply chain, indicated that Australian hydrogen has a lot of potential to fulfill Germany’s expanding demand,” said Australian Energy Minister Angus Taylor.
Germany is to contribute roughly 50 million euros to the alliance, while Australia has offered 32 million euros. In June, the relationship was originally revealed.
