Boryeong-si and Korea Gas Technology Corporation have signed an MOU to revive the hydrogen economy and develop and support local small and medium-sized businesses.

Major authorities from Boryeong, including Mayor Kim Dong-il, CEO Yong-don Cho, President of Gas Technology Corporation, and Hong-sang Ahn, President of Iljin Hisolus Co., signed the deal. It will help to revitalize Boryeong’s hydrogen economy by building an organic business collaboration framework and mutual support for hydrogen infrastructure dissemination.

This agreement covers topics like revitalizing the hydrogen economy in Boryeong City and nurturing and supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Boryeong City, as well as hydrogen-related technology development and demonstration by contracted companies, technological support plans for local businesses, and industrialization cooperation in connection with hydrogen storage and transport trailers.

It includes Boryeong City’s strategy for expanding hydrogen car supply and leading the hydrogen economy, as well as the Gas Technology Corporation’s assistance plan.

Gas Technology Corporation is a public corporation that has built and operated a number of hydrogen infrastructures, and it contributes to the construction and dissemination of hydrogen infrastructure models fit for Boryeong City based on its technology and expertise. It is expected to contribute to the vitalization of the hydrogen economy in Boryeong City and the fostering of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by supporting hydrogen technology development and demonstration of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) based on years of research and development know-how in the hydrogen field as well as utilization (SMEs).

Iljin Hisolus is a corporation that provides environmentally efficient storage, transportation, and use solutions. It will contribute to the development and manufacturing of a 450 bar tube trailer that will enhance the current tube trailer by giving a solution for the construction of a tube trailer, a hydrogen transport vehicle.

ULP, a firm with a variety of unique trailer manufacturing technology, aims to work with Iljin Hisolus to reduce hydrogen costs in Boryeong City and revitalize the safe and cost-effective hydrogen economy by producing and supplying tube trailers.

“Through this agreement, a cooperative body has been established for each institution to interact closely throughout the hydrogen lifecycle,” said Yong-don Cho, president of Gas Technology Corporation. “We will do everything we can to assist the capabilities of our diverse hydrogen businesses,” he stated.
