DEME has completed the installation of inter-array cables at Belgium’s largest offshore wind farm, SeaMade, utilizing Living Stone vessel.
The work on the installation of the inter array cables started in April and was finalized on Tuesday, May 26, 2020.
Living Stone operated at peak production levels, laying up to three cables per day, DEME said on its social media.
The vessel laid 64 cables with a total length of 71.2 km at the wind farm site in the Belgian North Sea.

The work followed the successful completion of the two substations installation for the SeaMade offshore wind farm by DEME earlier this year.
Each with a weight of 1,200 tonnes, the substations transform the wind energy that is produced to 225 kV, which in turn allows the electricity to be brought to shore via Elia’s Modular Offshore Grid (MOG).
DEME’s Living Stone earlier installed the export cable for the wind farm, which will transmit the electricity to shore.
With a 487 MW capacity SeaMade will provide renewable energy to 485,000 households in Belgium before the end of 2020.
