FCVs accelerate hydrogen economy

Hydrogen energy is recognized as the clean energy with the greatest growth potential in the 21st century because to its numerous sources, absence of emissions, eco-friendliness, and wide variety of uses. FCV (fuel cell vehicles) are one of the primary routes for hydrogen energy utilization.

Nevertheless, the development of FCV must not only overcome technological obstacles, but also address the issue of hydrogen energy supply.

As an essential component of hydrogen application infrastructure, hydrogen refueling stations are the attention of several energy companies and nations. Asia and Europe are the most active regions for the building of hydrogen refueling stations worldwide, in terms of geographical distribution.

Currently, there are two types of hydrogen refueling stations in the world: huge public hydrogen refueling stations and tiny hydrogen production and refueling equipment for individual use.

Small self-use hydrogen production and refueling equipment, such as Angstrom’s CUBE series hydrogen refueler, is more suited for clients with urgent hydrogen refueling requirements or low hydrogen demand. This device just requires a water and electricity connection for 35MPa or 70MPa hydrogen generation and refilling. It employs a novel modular architecture with a high level of integration and is simple to operate, install, and maintain. This item combines safety, precision, simplicity, and dependability.

Typically, typical large-scale hydrogen refueling stations are ideal for public transportation and vast hydrogen refilling requirements. Although this infrastructure generates more hydrogen, it is quite sophisticated and requires a substantial amount of area. Currently, Angstrom’s 500KG/day containerized hydrogen refueling station solves the aforementioned issues, since it has a smaller footprint, easier installation and maintenance, cheaper investment and operation costs, and greater levels of safety and automation. The station’s daily fuelling capacity is 500 kg (12 hrs). The entire system is comprised of a 40ft container (manifold, compressor, dispenser, and safety & controls), a hydrogen ground storage (200KG@43.8MPa), a compression cooling-water machine chiller (for the compressor), and a low temperature chiller for hydrogen cooling. With twin TK16 and TK25 nozzles, refueling pressure is 35MPa.

The construction and popularity of hydrogen filling stations will impact the commercialization process of fuel cell vehicles (FCVs), while the development of FCVs will be a crucial component of the hydrogen economy.
