TECO2030 and AVL List GmbH have signed a collaboration agreement for the deployment of TECO2030’s fuel cell stacks in AVL’s DemoTruck, which is powered by the HyTruck Fuel Cell System.
The DemoTruck project is now in the process of creating a prototype class 8 / 40-ton truck with exceptional power density capabilities and a perfect form factor for the integration of over 300kW net fuel cell units onto regular truck chassis. Midway through 2023, the DemoTruck prototype will be fueled by fuel cell stacks supplied by TECO2030.
HyTruck (in support of AVL’s DemoTruck) is an Austrian government-funded project with the goal of developing, building, calibrating, and validating a heavy-duty fuel cell system that meets the criteria of commercial vehicles in terms of power, efficiency, dependability, and lifetime. AVL, DB Schenker, Hydrogen Europe, EI-JKU, EMT, EVN AG, FEN, FPT, HyCentA, PBX, Rosenbauer, Technical University of Vienna, VKM, and WIVA are among the project’s competent partners. The project will last for 36 months, with the concept for the fuel cell system available by the end of 2019. AVL will coordinate the project and design the technical concept for the fuel cell powertrain, which will include cooling, operating strategy, packaging, and fuel cell system development.
