Bloom Energy and Cefla team up on fuel cells in Italy
Bloom Energy has teamed with Cefla to deploy several megawatts (MW) of Bloom’s solid oxide fuel cells through 2025.
The collaboration will increase Bloom’s presence in Italy and help Italian businesses switch from conventional combustion-based energy sources to a fuel-cell-based Energy Server that can effectively meet their urgent energy requirements.
Cefla will use Bloom’s highly effective Energy Servers, which can be set up to take the place of conventional combined heat and power (CHP) systems, to meet the recently agreed gas reduction requirement. With almost no detrimental smog-forming particulate matter, Bloom’s fuel-flexible technology, which can run on natural gas, biogas, or hydrogen, produces electricity without burning and reduces carbon emissions compared to the grid.
Hyundai Motor Company establishes vehicle joint venture with CICC in China
In order to strengthen its position in the nation’s expanding market for zero-emission commercial vehicles, Hyundai Motor Company established a joint venture with a subsidiary of the Chinese investment banking company China International Capital Corporation (CICC).
A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was inked with CCM, the capital management arm of CICC, in order to jointly launch a commercial car business using hydrogen in China.

Charbone leases land for green hydrogen plant from Town of Selkirk
In accordance with a lease agreement signed by Charbone Manitoba and the Town of Selkirk in Manitoba, Charbone Manitoba is granted access to a 4.6-acre plot of property west of the defunct City of Selkirk Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The first regional green hydrogen production facility in Manitoba will be designed, constructed, and run by Charbone Manitoba in accordance with the lease’s requirements.

1s1 Energy Portugal wraps up $2.15M funding round for green hydrogen project
1s1 Energy has closed a $2.15 million fundraising round. The principal investors are Faber and CSN Inova, with Asiri, Gibson Lane GmbH, Aquarius Capital, and Ecoa Capital also taking part.
With the funding, 1s1 Energy Portugal will be able to finish the planning stages of Hy2Tech, the first hydrogen project in Portugal to get the Important Project of Common European Interest label (IPCEI). GeoPura’s hydrogen generator kept Uniper’s UK gas plant operational
During a three-month maintenance period, a GeoPura hydrogen-powered generator kept Uniper’s Cottam Development Centre (CDC) natural gas plant in the UK running.
The 250kW Hydrogen Power Unit (HPU) from GeoPura, which was ordered by Uniper and used by the maintenance contractor Siemens Energy, provided power to the outage village’s welfare facilities and EV charging stations for all of the site’s electric vehicles.
According to GeoPura, the HPU was powered by green hydrogen created using clean energy from a nearby biomass facility.
The maintenance outage at GeoPura’s CDC power plant is the first one to have been powered by green hydrogen in this manner, the company claims. The most recent outage has demonstrated the need for hydrogen-powered backup power, which is necessary because the 445MW natural gas power plant must shut down for periodic maintenance every four to five years.
Maharashtra plans hydrogen policy for automotive and energy industries
Within a month, the Maharashtra government plans to announce a hydrogen policy for the automotive and energy industries.
The National Hydrogen Mission, which the Union government has already established, is viewed as the fuel that would replace fossil fuels. Samant declared that in order to bring the technology to Maharashtra, the government will form an agreement with the Union government.
