At its facility in Point Tupper, Nova Scotia, EverWind Fuels Company is working in collaboration with Potlotek Development Corporation to develop its green hydrogen and green ammonia project.
The band council’s unanimous approval led to the two companies signing an MOU. This third MOU between EverWind and Mi’kmaq Corporations in Nova Scotia was recently signed.
The goal of EverWind is to aid in the transition to green energy and improve Nova Scotia’s chances of achieving net zero emissions. The project’s initial phases involve the use of renewable technology and are expected to cost $6 billion USD in capital.
Trent Vichie, CEO of EverWind, stated, “We are dedicated to learning from traditional environmental stewardship practices and integrating these approaches throughout the development and operation of this project. “Industries with little regard for their cumulative effects are to blame for the climate crisis. The Mi’kmaq take the next seven generations into account when planning any development. We at EverWind promise to follow suit, with the goal of making Nova Scotia cleaner and greener for everyone.
