Plug Power orders five HRS14 hydrogen refueling stations
The collaboration between Plug Power and HRS, a manufacturer of hydrogen refueling stations in Europe, has hit a new milestone.
A specific HRS14 hydrogen refueling station has received a firm order from Plug, bringing the total number of stations bought by Plug since the start of 2023 to 5. In order to assist Plug’s development plan for Europe, HRS and Plug inked a contract in January 2023 for the provision of hydrogen refueling stations over the following 12 to 24 months.
To distribute hydrogen to fleets of forklifts outfitted with Plug’s fuel cell solution, HRS has created a unique competitive refueling station in this situation.
Hyundai and FirstElement to test hydrogen fuel-cell trucks in California
Hyundai Motor and FirstElement Fuel are testing Xcient fuel cell heavy-duty vehicles in California. FirstElement’s 700 bar True Zero hydrogen refueling stations will fuel the prototypes. Taylor-Wharton and Nikkiso created their 125 kg/h mobile refueler.
FirstElement Fuel’s Class A drivers drive three Xcient Fuel Cell trucks across California, logging over 25,000 miles without emissions. The company has filled over 120 hydrogen tanks and distributes liquid hydrogen. Hydrogen fuels Class 8 FCEV trucks efficiently. The prototypes will be refueled at 700 bar pressure by True Zero hydrogen refueling stations.
FirstElement Fuel and Hyundai Motor will launch the largest commercial deployment of Class 8 hydrogen-powered fuel cell trucks in Oakland, CA, later this year. NorCAL Zero, financed by the California Energy Commission and the California Air Resources Board and maintained by the Center for Transportation and the Environment, informs design decisions.
DroneUp and DMI to jointly test new drones hydrogen tech
Recently, DroneUp announced that it will work with Doosan Mobility Innovation (DMI) to explore innovative hydrogen technology that could extend drone flight times and produce no carbon emissions. The major goal of the agreement is to test and improve dependable systems that are appropriate for scaled operating requirements.
Drones driven by lithium batteries have a 3-to-1 energy density advantage over those powered by DMI’s hydrogen technology. The drone’s flying time is greatly increased by the new H2 technology to 2 to 5 hours, depending on a number of variables like weather and cargo weight.
The new H2 technology being tested has advantages for environmental sustainability in addition to lengthening flight times. Drops of water are the only byproduct of the battery technology, and CO2 emissions are reduced to “zero.”
Both businesses will benefit from testing DMI’s hydrogen fuel cell power packs to extend flight times and reduce carbon emissions. It will support their efforts and eventually provide brand-new, cutting-edge drone industry possibilities.
Wuhan issues first hydrogen refueling station operating license
Sinopec Innovation Avenue Refueling and Hydrogen Comprehensive Service Station received Wuhan’s first integrated refueling, hydrogen refueling, charging, and solar power generation in the afternoon of April 18, thanks to the urban management department of Dongxihu District.
The car hydrogen filling station’s longstanding inability to obtain a business license due to murky regulations has been resolved with the formal functioning of the energy service station.
“Hydrogen energy offers the benefits of zero emissions, no pollution, and renewable energy; the pace of hydrogenation is quick, which is comparable to the speed of refilling; the battery life is substantial; and it is more suited for large vehicles. Most of the present hydrogen-powered vehicles are employed in the logistics sector. The company presently has 150 hydrogen energy cars, 50 of which are in use, and needs roughly 300 kilos of hydrogen energy every day, according to Luo Juncai, head of Hubei Hydrogen Power Technology Operations.
The Municipal Urban Management and Law Enforcement Committee published “Guidelines for the Examination and Approval of Gas Operation Permits (Fuel Cell Vehicle Hydrogen Refueling Stations)” in February of this year, which provided policy guarantees for the approval of automobile hydrogen refueling stations and officially clarified the types and approval procedures of the operation permits for automobile hydrogen refueling stations.
