Ministry of Energy of Chile to update National Green Hydrogen Strategy action plan

Given that the National Green Hydrogen Strategy’s action plan expires this year and that it intends to modernize the goals and activities to be implemented until the year 2030, the Chilean Ministry of Energy will update it.

The specialist understood that the second wave, which was divided into three lines of action, is currently the emphasis.

investments and institutionality to research the conditions, funding plans, regulations, and licenses required for the development of various types of capital.
From the complexity of the national economy to the growth of human capital and its influence on the quality of life of citizens, sustainability and local value that generates innovation for the value chain are essential.
Infrastructure, territorial planning, and settlement-related effects.

And a portion of this planning relates to the pole for electricity generating development that prioritizes areas for renewable energy in Antofagasta, where it is anticipated to take advantage of the advancement of the H2V industry given that the region has 15 green hydrogen projects that have already been declared.

Cologne rgets funding for hydrogen filling station

The building and operation of a hydrogen filling station with an electrolyser for the generation of green hydrogen have been approved by Cologne operator RVK as part of Germany’s National Innovation Programme for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology (NIP II). A projected training and education facility for digital and climate-neutral mobility in Mechernich includes the filling station and electrolyser. The Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport of Germany gave its approval to both investment initiatives.

The operator today has one of the largest fleets of hydrogen-fueled buses in Europe, including a sizable number of Solaris vehicles, after deciding to actively promote it about two years ago after the district of Euskirchen recognized the need for action and the future potential of hydrogen use. It also placed the first order for the GB Kite Hydroliner made by Wrightbus in Europe, with up to 60 units to be delivered over a two-year period.

Larsen & Toubro to start production at its electrolyzer unit in 2023-2024

By the conclusion of this fiscal year 2023–2024, Larsen & Toubro anticipates starting production at its electrolyzer unit. A pressurized alkaline electrolyzer manufacturing facility with a 1 GW annual capacity is being built by the business. This plant will produce electrolyzers thanks to a technical license from McPhy France.

By putting into operation a test green hydrogen plant on its Hazira campus during the previous fiscal year, Larsen & Toubro also entered the green hydrogen market. Daily production at the pilot plant is 45 kilogram of highly pure green hydrogen. In order to develop floating green ammonia projects for industrial-scale applications, the company also signed an MOU with H2Carrier, a company based in Norway.

Komatsu hydraulic excavator concept uses fuel cells

Although Komatsu already produces battery-powered mini-excavators, it doesn’t think battery power will be practical for larger construction equipment.

As a result, it is now developing medium- and large-scale commercial hydrogen fuel cell-powered construction machinery.

On its medium-sized hydraulic excavator, Komatsu has installed a hydrogen fuel cell system and hydrogen tank made by Toyota Motor Corporation for the new concept machine.

Hydrogen fuel cell tram from Hyundai Rotem gets iF Design Award

With its hydrogen fuel cell tram taking home the top honor in the product category of the iF Design Award 2023 in Germany, Hyundai Rotem is the first rail firm from South Korea to receive a prestigious international design award.

The awards, which are regarded as one of the top three design accolades in the world, have over 10,000 projects judged by about 130 design professionals on factors like creativity, talent, utility, aesthetics, and social responsibility.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy launched the award-winning tram as a demonstration project in 2021, and by year’s end, final construction is anticipated. Hyundai Rotem claimed that its model places an emphasis on both practicality and design features with regard to passenger safety.
