SunGreenH2, a cutting-edge clean energy technology company, has established its research and development (R&D) and manufacturing operations in Clayton, Victoria, creating over 30 high-skilled jobs.

The move showcases the Andrews Labor Government’s success in attracting international companies to the state, fostering the growth of the startup and renewable energy sectors while boosting local employment.

SunGreenH2 specializes in building high-performance hardware and developing complementary technologies that enable on-site green hydrogen production for industries, transportation, energy storage, and power-to-X applications. Their decision to scale up and relocate the next phase of commercialization to Victoria was driven by the government’s support, the state’s strong R&D capabilities, and the availability of a talented workforce in advanced manufacturing.

As an advanced manufacturer in the clean energy sector, SunGreenH2 is committed to continuous innovation through research and development, aiming to enhance product efficiency and address industry challenges.

Victoria has become an attractive investment destination for companies, with SunGreenH2 joining a growing list of firms choosing to invest in the state. Victoria has a track record of attracting investors from Singapore and nurturing the growth of startups towards commercialization. Recent investments from Singapore include companies like Seventh Sense, Divigas, NCS, and Oncoshot.

To further strengthen investor interest from the region, Invest Victoria will be hosting the annual Partner Summit in Singapore, highlighting the diverse investment opportunities available in Victoria.

Victoria’s startup ecosystem, encompassing startups, scaleups, and unicorns, holds an impressive enterprise value of $91 billion. The state’s commitment to reducing emissions and achieving net-zero targets by 2045 emphasizes the importance of investing in industries like renewable hydrogen, which has the potential to create thousands of renewable energy jobs.

Minister for Trade and Investment Tim Pallas expressed confidence in Victoria as a premier destination for startups, irrespective of their origin. He highlighted the state’s skilled workforce, culture of innovation, and its ability to attract the brightest minds from around the world, fostering job growth and technological expertise.

Minister for Energy and Resources Lily D’Ambrosio emphasized that investment in renewable hydrogen and other clean energy industries will play a vital role in achieving the state’s ambitious emission reduction targets and creating a sustainable future.

SunGreenH2 co-founder and CEO Tulika Raj expressed excitement about the strategic location of Melbourne, enabling access to top talent and the robust manufacturing ecosystem in Victoria. The company looks forward to further expanding its investment as the market for renewable hydrogen continues to grow.
