Sarawak’s Hydrogen Ambitions Fuelling Youth Employment

In a bid to create abundant job opportunities for the youth of Sarawak, the Industrial Zone in Kidurong, Bintulu is set to witness the establishment of two hydrogen plants. The joint efforts of companies from South Korea and Japan, these plants are expected to be completed by 2027.

The ambitious project aims to produce a substantial 100,000 tons of hydrogen annually, requiring a workforce of 1,000 employees per plant. With the potential to generate over 2,000 new jobs in technical technology, this endeavor holds promise in elevating the region’s economy and providing a promising future for the younger generation. In this article, we explore the goals, technology, potential impact, and challenges surrounding the establishment of these hydrogen plants in Sarawak.

The primary goal of establishing the hydrogen plants in Kidurong, Bintulu, is to create a “job pool” for the youth of Sarawak.
