German electrolyser manufacturer thyssenkrupp nucera has opened an Indian office in Mumbai as it expands its chlor-alkali business and development of green hydrogen.

The new site featuring a sales and engineering hub in the north-east of the port city is hoped to grow the company in the Indian market while also supporting engineering and project execution in adjacent regions such as the Middle East, Asia and Australia.

Coming as the subsidiary’s eight location, the Mumbai office starts with 30 employees, while thyssenkrupp nucera anticipates that number will rise to more than 80 within three years.

The opening of the Mumbai office is a sign of thyssenkrupp nucera’s commitment to the Indian market. The company sees India as a key market for green hydrogen, as the country has ambitious plans to develop its renewable energy sector and reduce its carbon footprint.

Thyssenkrupp nucera is a leading manufacturer of alkaline water electrolysers, which are used to produce green hydrogen from water and renewable energy. The company’s electrolysers are used in a variety of applications, including chlor-alkali production, ammonia production, and hydrogen refuelling stations.

The company’s expansion into India is part of its broader strategy to become a global leader in green hydrogen technology. thyssenkrupp nucera is targeting a global market share of 30% in the green hydrogen electrolyser market by 2030.

The opening of thyssenkrupp nucera’s Indian office could have a significant impact on the development of green hydrogen in India. The company’s presence in India will help to raise awareness of green hydrogen and its potential benefits, and it will also make it easier for Indian companies to access green hydrogen technology.

The company’s expansion into India is also likely to lead to the creation of new jobs and the development of new supply chains. This could help to boost the Indian economy and create new opportunities for Indian businesses.

The opening of thyssenkrupp nucera’s Indian office is a positive development for the green hydrogen industry in India. The company’s presence in India could help to accelerate the adoption of green hydrogen and make it a more viable fuel source for Indian businesses.
