Hyzon Motors and REMONDIS Australia unveil hydrogen-powered waste collecting truck
In a joint commercial experiment with REMONDIS Australia, Hyzon Motors Inc., a pioneer in hydrogen fuel cell technology, has unveiled its first hydrogen-powered waste collecting truck. This implementation is a ground-breaking effort in Australia to incorporate quieter trash collection while significantly reducing diesel consumption and annual carbon emissions.
This study is an important step toward environmentally friendly and emission-free heavy-duty transportation in Australia and possibly elsewhere in the world. REMONDIS Australia is likely to complete a full purchase of the vehicle if it meets the desired performance benchmarks during the trial, solidifying a potential change in the waste management industry toward more environmentally friendly solutions.
ANGI to deliver hydrogen refueling station to Santa Clarita
In order to refuel buses, Santa Clarita, California, will receive the first full hydrogen refueling station from ANGI Energy Systems.
Through a collaboration with energy infrastructure company Trillium, ANGI will assist Santa Clarita Transit in making the switch to fuel cell buses as its CNG buses reach the end of their useful lives.
It is envisaged that the modularly constructed hydrogen refueling station will provide “best-in-class” performance and uptime through remote monitoring, energy management, and preventive maintenance.
The US Department of Energy (DOE) has selected California’s ARCHES hydrogen hub as one of seven projects that will share $7 billion in funding. The firm hopes that the deployment of the station would help the state achieve its target of having 200 hydrogen refueling stations in place by 2025.
