North Texas transportation officials are celebrating a monumental achievement in the pursuit of cleaner energy as the Department of Transportation (DoT) awarded Texas $100 million to bolster its infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen fueling stations statewide.
This significant funding injection marks a pivotal step towards achieving Texas’ low-emission goals and aligns with national efforts to combat climate change.
The primary goal of the funding initiative is to expand the network of EV charging stations and hydrogen fueling stations across Texas, thereby addressing the critical need for cleaner transportation options. The funding allocation includes $15 million earmarked for the construction of 100 EV chargers spanning 16 counties in North Texas.
