Fluxys Hydrogen Named “Hydrogen Transport System Operator” in Belgium

Fluxys Hydrogen’s appointment as the Hydrogen Network Operator (HNO) for Belgium marks a significant milestone in the country’s journey towards decarbonization.

Fluxys Belgium’s decades of expertise in gas transport have paved the way for the establishment of Fluxys Hydrogen. With a specific focus on hydrogen infrastructure, Fluxys Hydrogen is well-positioned to lead the development and operation of a hydrogen pipeline network in Belgium.

The appointment of Fluxys Hydrogen as HNO aligns with Belgium’s federal hydrogen strategy, emphasizing the importance of hydrogen in achieving climate goals. By developing a hydrogen pipeline network as part of the European Hydrogen Backbone, Fluxys Hydrogen aims to facilitate the transportation of low-carbon energy across borders.

Fluxys Hydrogen has already initiated intensive market surveys and preparatory studies to accelerate the energy transition.
