ABS is to provide classification services to the first floating heavy lift and installation vessel to be built in Taiwan.
Called Green Jade, the vessel was commissioned by CDWE, a joint venture between Taiwanese company CSBC and Belgian offshore contractor DEME, and will be built for delivery in 2022 at CSBC in Taiwan for deployment on the offshore wind market in the region.

With a length of 216,5 meters and a crew of up to 160 people, Green Jade will be designed to handle the heaviest monopiles, jackets and turbines and features a power crane of 4.000 tonnes. As well as Dynamic Positioning 3 capabilities and dual fuel engines Green Jade features a waste heat recovery system which converts heat from exhaust gases and cooling water into electrical energy.
