Stiesdal Hydrogen has developed a novel electrolyser stack aimed at enhancing the production of hydrogen gas.

The patent, filed on August 9, 2024, introduces significant improvements in the design and operation of electrolysers, a critical component for the efficient production of hydrogen.

Features and Improvements

The patented electrolyser stack features multiple bipolar electrically conductive metal separator plates. Each plate sandwiches a membrane and has raised surface portions that create minor gas channels. This design facilitates the transportation of produced gas along the separator plates. The structured area with minor channels is surrounded by both upper and lower major channels, connected via first and second major channels on either side. This innovative configuration ensures effective gas flow and circulation of the electrolyte through the structured areas, enhancing the efficiency of hydrogen production.
