Mahle, a series supplier for fuel cell vehicles, has joined the Hydrogen Council.
The Hydrogen Council is a worldwide initiative of leading energy, transport, and industrial companies promoting hydrogen as a core component in the transition to cleaner energies.
“Hydrogen is a cornerstone of CO2-neutral mobility, particularly with regard to road transport. There is still a lot to be done to industrialise fuel cell technology consistently and to complement the highly efficient combustion engine with regenerative fuels, which is important in terms of climate and industrial policy.”
Dr Jörg Stratmann, CEO and Chairman of the Mahle Management Board.
The company also announced that it intends to expand its application portfolio for hydrogen.
In addition to developing fuel cells and components for commercial vehicles and passenger cars, Mahle is also focussing on hydrogen as a fuel for combustion engines and for stationary applications such as energy supply.
Earlier this year, eleven new members also joined the Hydrogen Council. The Hydrogen Council has grown from 13 founding companies in 2017 to 92 members in just three years.
