HORIBA has launched its first Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2-ICE) test bed in Chakan, Pune.
Operating since 2016, the Chakan facility, which spans 10,000 square meters, represents a considerable investment, approximately over INR 100 crore. It has been instrumental in numerous developmental projects, especially in emission measurement systems and continuous emission monitoring systems. This expansion furthers HORIBA’s dedication to contributing towards a sustainable future for India.
The latest investment, ranging between INR 28 to 30 crore, has been specifically made to establish the H2-ICE test bed. Thisfacility is designed to cater to the testing needs of engines up to 380KW, focusing on the Indian commercial vehicle sector. It highlights HORIBA’s commitment to supporting industries transitioning toward more eco-friendly solutions.
At the facility’s inauguration, HORIBA’s leadership emphasized the strategic role this test bed plays in supporting India’s ambitious target of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2070. The initiative underlines the importance of technological innovation in reducing environmental impact and enhancing business potential.
