Arco Technologies Inc. has joined forces with Shell GameChanger to test and advance its innovative electrolyzer technology.

The collaboration seeks to take electrolysis to new heights, with potential applications in real-world scenarios. This article explores the goals of the partnership, the cutting-edge technology involved, its potential impact, and the challenges ahead.

Arco Technologies Inc., an emerging player in the clean energy domain, is set to make strides with its proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells and anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzers. As part of its vision to drive the low carbon transition, Arco has partnered with Shell GameChanger, a renowned supporter and seed funder of startups focused on transforming the energy landscape while striving for carbon neutrality.

Shell GameChanger’s program is designed to propel groundbreaking concepts in the energy sector by providing research support, development funding, and market access. This dynamic initiative fosters mutually beneficial partnerships where Shell gains access to cutting-edge technology, and innovative businesses receive funding, advisory support, and access to a network of potential investors. It is a win-win scenario that fosters progress and drives the energy transition forward.

At the core of the collaboration lies Arco Technologies’ pioneering electrolyzer technology. The focus will be on developing an advanced AEM electrolyzer capable of higher hydrogen production. The new AEM electrolyzer will undergo rigorous testing to validate its commercial viability and real-world applications.

The project’s primary objective is to design, build, and test a small-scale 60kW AEM electrolyzer, with an impressive capacity to produce more than 24 kg of hydrogen per day. Such advancements in hydrogen production can have a profound impact on various industries, including transportation, industrial processes, and energy storage.

The partnership between Arco Technologies and Shell GameChanger represents a decisive step towards a sustainable future. As the world confronts the urgent need to combat climate change, collaborations like this one play a crucial role in driving innovative solutions to meet the growing demand for clean energy. With technology at the forefront, the joint efforts of these forward-thinking organizations have the potential to reshape the energy sector and unlock the power of hydrogen in the fight against carbon emissions.
