By 2030, H2 Mobility Austria, a group of 11 Austrian enterprises, hopes to have 2,000 hydrogen trucks on Austria’s roadways.
According to a Deloitte research, these initiatives will generate an additional profit of €475 million for Austria.
Deloitte was hired by the collaboration to investigate the possibility for hydrogen mobility in heavy-duty vehicles. According to the estimate, 2,000 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles may save 70 million liters of diesel.
According to the study, the generation of “green” hydrogen in Austria, as well as the associated filling station infrastructure, will provide an added value of €475 million.
H2 Mobility is an acronym for “High Mobility.” In the next two years, Austria wishes to work with the Austrian government to provide the necessary framework conditions. The business is following in the footsteps of H2 Mobility, which operates over 90 hydrogen filling stations in Germany.
By 2025, 1000 big hydrogen trucks are expected to be on European roads. By 2050, the European Union will have totally abandoned fossil fuels in favor of hydrogen.
