Emperium shipyard tests Russia’s first electric hydrogen vessel prototype The Emperium shipyard tested Russia’s first electric hydrogen vessel prototype on Niva in the Leningrad region. Its foundation is an odd piece of technology: an electrochemical generator (ECG) creates energy from hydrogen; the end product is precisely the electricity needed to power the batteries. Both the Sitronics group and the Center for Hydrogen Technologies of AFK Sistema deemed the test successful.
