H3 Dynamics’ self-contained hydrogen propulsion pods for drones and airplanes are from France. They have huge range and endurance without large batteries, like Airbus and other commercial airliners. Batteries weigh alot, heat up, and take a long time to charge, yet they’re simple, straightforward to use, and store enough energy for numerous uses. Hydrogen is a hassle, but in a fuel cell powertrain, it can keep an aircraft flying for ridiculously long periods of time. H3 Dynamics’ lightweight, aerodynamic hydrogen propulsion nascelle contains the powertrain—hydrogen tank, fuel cell system, electric motor, and propeller. It can be mounted on a fixed-wing…

The “big challenge” of creating green hydrogen at a reasonable price using a system based on nanocrystals is being tackled by researchers from the Institute of Advanced Materials of the Universitat Jaume I (UJI) of Castellón. Through the OHPERA project, the researchers are developing an optimized electrolyser based on lead-free perovskite nanocrystals to show how it is possible to create green hydrogen and high-value chemical compounds from industrial waste using just sunlight as a renewable energy source. Sixto Giménez, the project coordinator and one of the researchers leading the work at the University of Castellón along with Iván Mora Seró,…

A £2.5 million seed investment was made public by H2OPE organization to advance its hydrogen electrolysis technology. Many alternatives are not truly commercially viable because it can need almost as much energy to extract hydrogen from water as it does to produce it. At the same time, this may not lessen the carbon generation utilized for energy. With the use of cutting-edge techniques and patented technology, the H2OPE group hopes to double this efficiency and will build a modular unit that can handle significant energy-intensive applications. A hydrogen generating unit that can also be used to fill hydrogen fuel cells…
