Grexel, a subsidiary of EEX Group, has been selected by the Finnish TSO Gasgrid to provide combined hydrogen and biogas registry services in Finland via their proprietary platform G-REX. Guarantees of Origin for electricity are an important tool for end-users to receive reliable information about the origin of their energy while also channeling additional funding for the energy transition. Grexel will play an important role in expanding Origin tracking and markets for all energy carriers across the European Union through these new registries. Markus Klimscheffskij, CEO of Grexel, comments: “We at Grexel are glad to continue our service to Gasgrid…

DNV is launching a new Joint Industry Project (JIP) with 18 industry partners to improve standardization for reliable, safe, and cost-effective hydrogen production systems that use renewable energy-powered electrolysis to produce green hydrogen. Electrolysers are hydrogen-producing devices that use electricity to split water into hydrogen and oxygen in a chemical process known as electrolysis. Hydrogen can play a significant role in decarbonizing the world’s energy supply, unlocking more renewable energy potential, and is receiving increased attention as the energy transition accelerates. Kim Sandgaard-Mørk, Executive Vice President for Renewables Certification at DNV said. “DNV predicts that hydrogen will move from approximately…
An option for a hydrogen fuel cell technology from Clean Vision Corporation is the next step in demonstrating the ability to store the clean hydrogen produced from its pilot pyrolysis plant, which is expected to lead toward full-scale commercialization. As part of its agreement with the Indian Institute of Chemical Technology, the company plans to customize this advanced fuel cell for installation in its Hyderabad pyrolysis pilot plant (IICT). As a valuable byproduct, Clean-Seas’ waste plastic-to-energy conversion technology now generates hydrogen, increasing the economics of the process. Clean-Seas expects that this fuel cell will allow them to provide a complete…
The world’s largest chemical company, BASF, has signed a long-term agreement with Linde for the supply of hydrogen and steam. Adding a second hydrogen production facility in France’s Chalampé chemical park, Linde will design, build, own, and operate the new facility, doubling its current capacity there. By supplying BASF’s new hexamethylenediamine (HMD) manufacturing facility, as well as Linde’s local merchant customers’ rising hydrogen demand, this second plant will serve a dual purpose. When will the plant be operational? The first half of 2024. Veerle Slenders, President Region Europe West, Linde, said, “Hydrogen plays a key role in the manufacturing of…
As part of its global strategy to produce environmentally friendly hydrogen and ammonia, ATOME Energy has established a new division, ATOME Mobility, with the goal of beginning transport operations in Paraguay in the year 2023 at the earliest. Initially, ATOME Mobility will supply hydrogen to the road transportation sector from the most populous areas. It is hoped that this part of the business will be up and running by H1 2023, after negotiating with several potential suppliers. ATOME Mobility’s funding in Paraguay is expected to come from the company’s existing resources. ATOME Mobility’s business strategy includes partnering with operators to…
The United States Bureau of Land Management has granted Heliogen the exclusive right to lease land in the Brenda Solar Energy Zone (SEZ). A green hydrogen facility capable of producing about 20,000 metric tons of hydrogen per year will be built by Heliogen at the Brenda site. The Brenda Special Economic Zone is located in La Paz County, Arizona, near the California state line, on 3,343 acres of land. Access to Interstate 10 for hydrogen distribution to natural gas pipelines for blending and transport, and access to the Phoenix metropolitan area for domestic and international shipping, is available at this…
With the issuance of 134.6 million new shares, ReNu Energy completed the acquisition of Countrywide Renewable Hydrogen (CRH). With the help of project partners and governments, CRH develops green hydrogen projects. Additional 10 million shares will be issued to CRH’s three founders at a later date in consideration of the 124.6 million shares already issued. One hundred per cent of Peak Asset Management’s consideration shares will be held for 12 months, 75 percent for 18 months, and half for 24 months. With the acquisition, it now has access to three Australian onshore green hydrogen opportunities that are currently being discussed…
Future Proof Shipping (FPS) has joined the Flagships project and is looking to deploy its zero-emissions inland container vessels in European waters soon. As part of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, which was formerly known as the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking, Flagships is planning on launching two commercially operated hydrogen fuel cell vessels in 2023. To put it another way, Flagships has now added FPS’ Waal hydrogen-fuelled vessel to the project, which should be sailing on green hydrogen next summer (2023). FPS has announced that Ballard Europe, ship design company LMG Marin, and project coordinators VVT will now be…
In order to demonstrate economic viability and new technology under development, NewHydrogen will begin supplying green hydrogen generators to intermittent renewable power sites, such as wind and solar farms. Verde, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of green hydrogen generation systems, has agreed to supply the company with hydrogen generation systems under the terms of a Manufacturing Supply Agreement. The company is focusing on wind and solar farms that produce excess energy at certain times of the day. It can be used to run an electrolyzer that converts water into green hydrogen and distributes it through pipelines, where it can be converted back…
An order for hydrogen distribution systems from Van Kessel has been placed by Hexagon Purus, through its subsidiary, Wystrach GmbH. For industrial and transportation applications in the Netherlands, Wystrach’s hydrogen distribution systems and Hexagon Purus’ type 4 cylinders will be used to get hydrogen to people there. This is the first order that Hexagon Purus has made from Van Kessel. Price: About EUR 1.5 million (approx. NOK 15 million). “Our strategy is to become a leading player in the Dutch hydrogen market and the order represents an important step to achieve that goal, says Joan van Kessel, CEO of Van…
