Honda Motor Europe and SNAM (Société Nouvelle d’Affinage des Métaux) have expanded their battery recycling partnership to advance the sustainable usability of the end-of-life traction batteries. The arrangement will see SNAM collect and recycle batteries from Honda’s increasing number of hybrid and electric vehicles and either potentially prepare them for ‘second-life’ renewable energy storage uses or extract valuable materials for recycling if they are not suitable for that purpose. Honda and SNAM have worked together since 2013, to ensure the traceability of end-of-life batteries and dispose of them in accordance with European Union environmental standards. The expansion of this agreement…
The latest publication of the ‘Ocean Energy Key Trends and Statistics 2019 Report’, by Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) has highlighted the expansion of the wave energy market. Deployments are growing steadily with capacity up by 25% from the previous year. This reflects technological advancement and sustained Research, Development & Innovation funding leading to continuous improvements. Maximizing the abundant natural resource proffered by the Atlantic coast, project installations stretch from Portugal to Scotland having reached a cumulative install capacity of 11.8MW since 2010. 1.5MW is currently in the water, the remaining 10.3MW has been decommissioned following the completion of testing. Europe’s…
Incus-owned Scana Offshore has secured a contract from Kvaerner to supply mooring equipment for Hywind Tampen, Equinor’s new floating wind farm. The contract is Scana Offshore’s first hardware contract in the floating wind power market. The delivery from Scana Offshore consists of 33 hull brackets, which are used to attach anchoring lines to the hulls on the 11 offshore wind turbines that make up the Hywind Tampen wind farm.
