Companies in northwest Germany are planning to link up their hydrogen projects to transport hydrogen to industrial consumption centres in North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony.

HDF Energy has teamed up with DIGAS, a locomotive retrofit expert, to accelerate the design and development of diesel locomotive retrofit projects involving hydrogen power. As part of the partnership, HDF has also acquired a minority stake in DIGAS’ capital.

Dow has chosen Linde as its industrial gas partner for the supply of clean hydrogen and nitrogen to support its proposed net-zero carbon emissions integrated ethylene cracker and derivatives site in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada.

Woodside Energy has partnered with Keppel Data Centres to supply 1000 tonnes per day of liquid hydrogen to Singapore as early as 2030.

Volvo Penta, in collaboration with Belgium-based CMB.TECH has created a “breakthrough technology” that combines a traditional internal-combustion diesel engine with a hydrogen injection system.

In order to create a zero-carbon intensity hydrogen project at CF Industries’ Verdigris complex in Oklahoma, the companies CF Industries and NextEra Energy signed a memorandum of understanding.

The Dutch government has given a group, which includes BW Offshore, a grant of €3 million to construct a large-scale floating green hydrogen and ammonia project. SwitcH2 is in charge of the OFFSET project, which also includes MARIN, TU Delft, and Strohm.

Hydrogen Oman (Hydrom) is set to sign official contracts with the developers of six multibillion-dollar green hydrogen projects in Oman. The signing of the first contracts is scheduled for May, with the remainder to be signed in June.

The UK government has launched a consultation on the regulation of offshore hydrogen production and its transportation to shore.
