CO2 emissions from road freight transit must be reduced. Electric drives are suitable for short distances, whereas hydrogen is a viable option for longer journeys. However, numerous aspects concerning the H2 drive remain unknown. Hydrogen may one day provide climate-friendly energy for long-distance trucks. However, it is unclear how or in what form this potential ingredient will be implemented in Europe’s vehicles at the moment. However, time is of the essence. The debate continues over whether the green vehicle of the future should run entirely on hydrogen or whether it would be wiser to use batteries. Even the industry is…

In 2045, depending on how hydrogen consumption increases in specific industries, eastern Germany might face an annual hydrogen shortfall of up to 54 TWh.
Barwon Water will supply recycled water to the Viva Energy Australia Geelong refinery for the generation of renewable hydrogen that will be utilized at a Geelong New Energies Service Station.
New Memorandum of Understanding between ENGIE and Korean steel-maker POSCO to target green hydrogen production in the Middle East, Australia and Latin America
Developed by Germany-based hydrogen specialist Enapter, the EL 4.0 electrolyzer is based on a patented anion exchange membrane (AEM) technology. Commercial production is currently being prepared at the company’s Italian plant and the first shipments should be made in the summer.
The proposed hydrogen plant would be able to create up to 1 billion cubic feet of “blue” hydrogen per day, which is a term used in the industry to describe hydrogen produced from natural gas and backed by carbon capture and storage.
Nord Stream 2 was one of the first targets of the flurry of Western sanctions generated by Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. It was long considered as a Kremlin influence project that would strengthen Europe’s energy dependency on Russia.
Viva Energy has announced the launch of Australia’s most ambitious hydrogen mobility project, which will see the development of a New Energies Service Station in Geelong as the catalyst for the development of a network of hydrogen refueling stations stretching from Geelong to Sydney and on to Brisbane. The service station, which is planned to open in late 2023, will be Australia’s first commercial hydrogen refueling station that is open to the public. Additionally, it will provide charging for electric vehicles and green hydrogen, bringing together the zero-emission technologies that will assist Australia’s energy transition. The project is a critical…
CTG Brasil and SENAI (National Service for Industrial Learning) selected three projects from the 31 that applied to the Public Call – Green Hydrogen Strategic Mission, whose goal is to promote innovative solutions capable of generating business. After technical analysis, the following proposals were chosen: Green Industrial District; Production and Storage of Solar Energy in H2 and Applications in Mobility; and Multiport DC-DC Converter and Intelligent IoT System for Energy Management. The public call received applications from 13 states: Paraná, Santa Catarina, Ceará, Rio Grande do Norte, Amapá, Mato Grosso do Sul, Bahia, Rio Grande do Sul, Rio de Janeiro,…
The Grimaldi Group will test the first fuel cell port tractor for loading and unloading cargo at the Spanish port. The Port of Valencia is preparing for a world premiere: it will be the first port of call to use a hydrogen-powered port tractor to handle goods in transit. The “yard truck” will operate in the Europa Terminal on behalf of Grimaldi Group and will be aesthetically very similar to its diesel-powered versions. Inside, however, it will conceal batteries, fuel cells and an electric motor. The vehicle is obviously still in the testing phase. It is part of the European…
