Come March 16, and Toyota, the Japanese automaker, will debut a green hydrogen-based project in India, the first step toward introducing the alternative fuel vehicle that the Centre is aggressively pursuing. “On March 16, a pilot project in New Delhi will see the launch of a Toyoto automobile produced in Japan. Nitin Gadkari, minister for national highways and road transport, stated during a CII Webinar that the car will run on green hydrogen. While Gadkari has always emphasized the importance of flexi engine-powered vehicles in terms of mitigating environmental concerns, he stated on Saturday that such vehicles would be seen…
Aberdeen City Council and bp announced the formation of a joint venture to develop a scalable green hydrogen production, storage, and distribution plant powered entirely by renewable energy in the city. Aberdeen Hydrogen Hub will be created in three phases to meet expanding hydrogen demand. Phase one, which includes the construction of a solar-powered green hydrogen production and transportation refueling facility, is scheduled to begin production in 2024 and produce over 800 kg of green hydrogen per day – enough to fuel 25 buses and a similar number of other fleet vehicles. Aberdeen City Council and bp – which will manage…
Clean energy developer Pure Hydrogen has signed a binding collaboration and licensing agreement with French technology company Plenesys to commercialize that company’s HyPlasma process as part of plans to produce turquoise hydrogen. The collaboration begins with a pilot plant in Brisbane, which will be operational within the next 12 months, followed by commercial-scale modules in Australia, Asia-Pacific and sub-Saharan Africa. Pure Hydrogen said Monday that the company has built significant experience in producing hydrogen by methane pyrolysis, which in combination with HyPlasma would use Plenesys’ patented A/C plasma burner to convert methane to hydrogen and create value-added solid carbon products.…
Universal Hydrogen has selected a 50-acre block of land northeast of the Albuquerque International Sunport’s passenger terminal to manufacture and distribute hydrogen storage modules, construct airplane retrofit kits, provide aftermarket maintenance services, and handle administrative operations. The position provides access to a runway and the possibility of reclaiming a rail line south of the Sunport in the future. New Mexico will be essential to the company’s ambition to decarbonize difficult-to-abate greenhouse gas emissions in aviation, ground transportation, and heavy industries, thereby assisting the United States in meeting its Paris Agreement commitments. Additionally, the corporation maintains operations in California, Washington, and…
Oklahoma is prepared to demonstrate hydrogen’s commercial viability, and it is doing it regionally through a partnership with two adjacent states. Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana announced this week that they are establishing a regional hydrogen hub in the goal of securing a billion dollars or more in federal funding to demonstrate the states’ capabilities. There are numerous ways in which this effort may take place throughout the three states, according to Kenneth Wagner, Oklahoma’s secretary of energy and environment. In 2021, Wagner chaired a task team that investigated Oklahoma’s capacity to make, store, and provide hydrogen as an environmentally friendly…
Hydrogen has demonstrated this at this time, with successful tests in a number of nations that would contribute to carbon neutrality, as reviewed in a recent report by the International Energy Forum.
Sinopec, as a typical example of energy central businesses, has undertaken extensive reforms and innovations in the areas of “net-zero” emissions and low-carbon competitiveness.
The project’s investment cost is anticipated to be $5 billion. The project will be completed in two stages, with green hydrogen production expected to begin in 2025.
Swedish research group has developed a device combining CIGS thin-film solar modules and an alkaline electrolyser based on a trimetallic cathodic catalyst made of nickel, molybdenum, and vanadium (NiMoV) and an anode made of nickel oxide (NiO). The electrolyser achieved an average solar-to-hydrogen (STH) efficiency of 8.5% for stable operations during 100 hours.
Iveco Group is preparing to develop a line of hydrogen-powered light commercial vehicles to boost its competitiveness in alternative platforms and powertrains.
