RWE plans to build 300 MW of electrolysis capacity at Lingen by 2026 as part of the larger GET H2 European hydrogen infrastructure project. Lingen’s total electrolyzer capacity might be increased to 2 GW by 2030, according to the German utility.
First Hydrogen Corp. signed an agreement with FEV Consulting GmbH (“FEV”). The two companies will jointly design and build the prototype for a customized hydrogen fueling station for the hydrogen mobility market. First Hydrogen is working with FEV, an Aachen, Germany-based company, to design and build a prototype liquid hydrogen fueling station that will better serve customers over the lifetime of their First Hydrogen vehicles, serving the hydrogen mobility market as a whole. First Hydrogen sees the development of the hydrogen fueling station as an asset to its automotive strategy and an additional opportunity to sell hydrogen-related technology to its…
Avacon and DVGW, together with Saxony-Anhalt’s Minister for Economic Affairs, Sven Schulze, have put a hydrogen admixing system into operation in Schopsdorf.
The successful work from the “ORBIT” project on storing electricity from renewable sources in the form of methane continues. Under the leadership of the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg (OTH Regensburg), ten partners are working within the framework of “ORBIT II” on the further development and industrial use of a power-to-gas plant and thus on the future of the hydrogen economy in Germany. In the joint project “Expansion of a highly efficient trickle bed bioreactor and optimization of the methanation plant for commercial industrial use”, ten partners are working on the expansion of a power-to-gas plant so that the technology becomes…
Trains powered by hydrogen were actually supposed to start running in the Schwarza Valley in the Saalfeld-Rudolstad district in 2023. The Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure has now put a corresponding pilot project on hold. The reason: at 90 million euros, operation is expected to cost almost twice as much as estimated. But the project is not completely dead yet. The Thuringian Ministry of Infrastructure has halted an award procedure for the operation of hydrogen trains in the Schwarza Valley in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district. According to a spokesman, the costs estimated for operating the hydrogen trains are too high. The sole…
GBS, which has extensive expertise in the building of gas pipelines as well as the construction and upgrading of compressor stations, has joined the organization, which was founded in 1990 and now has 57 members from 24 countries.
The world has been debating the use of green hydrogen and its potential to contribute to the process of decarbonization of the global economy. The focus on developing carbon-neutral energy sources and technologies, such as hydrogen, comes amid climate change and pressure for governments and countries to commit to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. Hydrogen has become a strategic priority in energy and climate policies around the world, not only as an energy carrier, but also because it allows for energy storage. Because of these characteristics, it can be used directly as a low- or zero-carbon energy source, and it…
During the third administrative roundtable ‘Hydrogen and Green Chemistry,’ leading figures from business and academia established new agreements on scaling up technology and intensifying research and innovation. This occurred under the auspices of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Change. The aims are unambiguous. There is a well-defined action plan with clearly defined milestones. Additionally, funding is available. Now we simply need to pick up the pace,’ a unanimous roundtable agreed. With the official approval of the GroenvermogenNL growth fund proposal (€338 million), investments and activities to develop the hydrogen and green chemistry ecosystems in the Netherlands will begin…
The new Hydrogenious LOHC Emirates has its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and intends to provide solutions for hydrogen storage and transportation at any size and distance.
