It is the third-generation language prediction model in the GPT-n series created by OpenAI. EDP Renewables has signed a €426 million sales and purchase agreement with Finerge, one of Portugal’s largest renewable energy companies, for virtually all of stake owned by EDPR – as well as outstanding shareholder loans–in a portfolio of 242 MW of installed onshore wind farms. EDPR completed the divestment through the sale of seven onshore wind farms situated in Ávila and Catalonia. The assets in question were operational for an average of nine years. Blue Gem Wind, the joint venture between Total and Simply Blue Energy, a project developer for the Celtic Sea blue economy, has awarded a million-pound contract to UK manufacturer, Rovco. Rovco will begin survey work on Erebus, a planned floating 96MW offshore wind farm 45 kilometers off the Pembrokeshire coast in August. Germany’s remote North Sea island Heligoland is hoping for a rapid increase in green hydrogen production with offshore wind power. A pilot plant for producing green hydrogen energy for low-emission production of chemicals and fuel has opened in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, the Fraunhofer Centre for Chemical-Biotechnological Processes (CBP) says. The plant, in the town of Leuna, should provide clean hydrogen energy for firms operating in Germany’s “chemical triangle.” The plant works by using photovoltaic or wind power sources to generate hydrogen from water through electrolysis, resulting in a climate-neutral product, Fraunhofer CBP said in a statement. Boralex has completed the 16-year refinancing of approximately $805 million for its 230 MW Niagara Region wind farm (NRWF) in the Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada. Boralex is the site operator and has a 50 percent interest in the property. “This is our third major refinancing in less than a year, which shows the confidence our financial partners have in Boralex and the execution of our strategic plan. The 731.5 MW Borssele III/IV offshore wind project has achieved first power, a result of close collaboration between the Blauwwind project partners and the supply chain. The turbine installation campaign began in late May 2020 and has now seen 36 of the 77 V164-9.5 MW MHI Vestas turbines secure at the site. European Energy has secured a €96.5 million financing of its Apulian solar farms with the French financial service firm Natixis. The agreement marks the first Italian photovoltaic park ever to be financed without first receiving state subsidies. After just one year of construction, the Troia solar farm in Apulia (near Foggia) was connected to the grid in June and today stands as Italy’s largest solar farm.
