Vestas has received an order of 86 MW for the Lakiakangas III project in Isojoki, in the South Ostrobothnia region of Finland, with German developer CPC Germania. The order covers the supply, installation and commissioning of 20 V150-4.2 MW wind turbines in 4.3 MW Power Improved Mode, as well as a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement that will provide the customer with improved output and long-term business case sureness. They are now ready to commence construction with planned commissioning in 2022 as soon as the Taiwanese government issues the remaining permits. NTR has successfully completed a portfolio refinancing of €370 million of a 220 MW onshore wind portfolio for its NTR Wind 1 LP fund. NTR created the fund to build and operate onshore wind projects with lucrative long-term funding from REFIT (Ireland) and ROC (UK). RWE Supply & Trading will purchase the full output of the Dutch onshore wind generated by Waddenwind, a group of local farmers in the province of Groningen. RWE Supply & Trading expects its big industrial and municipal customers to market both the electricity and the associated guarantees of origin. The wind farm, which consists of 12 wind turbines, is situated on a dyked area (Oostpolder) south of port Eemshaven. Direct electrification will be the primary driver for decarbonizing the European economy by 2050. Another important element will be renewable hydrogen–it will play a key role in decarbonizing hard-to-abate sectors such as heavy-duty transport. This requires a substantial uptake of highly scalable and cost-competitive wind energy, WindEurope argued at the Green Hydrogen Virtual Summit. Vestas has secured a 36 MW order with ELAWAN Energyfor four projects awarded at the Polish wind-solar-energy auction in December 2019.  With this order, Vestas has now secured over 1.5 GW of onshore wind energy projects in Poland, since the country introduced its auction scheme in 2018.  The order reinforces Vestas’ market leadership in the country’s renewable energy sector and builds upon the installed base of over 2.2 GW. DeepGreen has formalized partnerships with leading scientific research institutions and internationally-renowned universities in a significant investment into its ongoing deep-sea discovery program to characterize the potential impacts of lifting polymetallic nodules up from the bottom of the Clarion Clipperton Zone (CCZ) of the Pacific Ocean.
