Ørsted has submitted a bid for the 760 MW Hollandse Kust Noord tender issued by the Dutch government. Ørsted’s bid involves innovative technologies that will help incorporate even larger quantities of offshore wind into the Dutch energy network. Macquarie’s Green Investment Group (GIG) has reported financial closure on Tysvaer wind farm, its second Norwegian onshore wind development to reach financial close. The Cherry Tree wind farm owned by John Laing Group has provided first energy to the national electricity grid. Located approximately 15 kilometers south-east of Seymour, Victoria, the wind farm is constructed by renewable energy developer Infigen Energy and wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. The first generation marks a significant milestone for the project and will be followed by the final phase of work, including the final testing of all turbines and control systems before the wind farm is fully operational. The Borssele 1 & 2 offshore wind farm has supplied first electricity to the Dutch grid. The first wind turbine now generates electricity. wpd has expanded its presence in Taiwan with signing an agreement with Taiwan Green Power (TGP), an offshore wind developer under the Taiwanese LeaLea Group. The partners will jointly develop the No. 28 offshore wind farm site, which is expected to be part of Taiwan’s third tender round.
