BAC has announced a collaboration with Viritech, a company that specializes in hydrogen powertrains, with the goal of bringing a fuel cell electric vehicle powertrain to the Mono.
Viritech’s successful bid for a Niche Vehicle Network Feasibility Study Grant from the Office for Zero Emission Vehicles resulted in the agreement. The funds will go toward “developing a hydrogen powertrain for niche vehicle applications,” according to the study. Which is, of course, right up BAC’s alley, hence the collaboration.
The Mono will serve as the foundation for the experimental powertrain. This obviously benefits Viritech, as well as BAC, which aspires to be a zero-emissions company by 2030.
