Bouygues Telecom has developed an energy supply solution utilizing green hydrogen at some sites on the mobile network as part of the deployment of one-off or permanent installations on the mobile network. In comparison to a thermal generator, this solution dramatically reduces the environmental impact of its locations, with a 70% decrease in CO2 emissions and a sound level divided by 100 (-20dB).
It should be mentioned that the necessity for extra mobile coverage is becoming increasingly common during event operations such as sporting events, fairs, and festivals. This invention, in terms of permanent sites, is a reaction to some isolated and difficult-to-access locations that are awaiting electrical connection.
The initial demonstration of the BTruck5G mobile device took place in front of the president of ARCEP on March 23 and 24, during Bouygues Telecom’s Innovations Days event. The BTruck5G was created to deliver ultra-fast internet to temporary events. Bouygues Telecom employees created and built vehicles that are equipped with the newest 5G technology and placed around France.
At the same time, Bouygues Energies & Services’ Hyvision green hydrogen supply system is being used to power a 4G mobile site in Meyrargues, in the Bouches-du-Rhône department. Other departments will soon be able to benefit from PowiDian’s provision of a hydrogen generator to replace the thermal generator.
