Chevron, one of the world’s leading integrated energy companies, has ordered four HyFill hydrogen transport trailers from BayoTech, a leader in hydrogen solutions.
Chevron will use BayoTech’s transport trailers to deliver high-pressure hydrogen gas in the western United States for use in power production, transportation, and industrial applications. Q1 of 2023 is anticipated for delivery.
“With the record demand for hydrogen molecules, industrial gas suppliers are seeking solutions to safely and efficiently distribute large amounts of hydrogen in a compact package,” said Adam Penque, Senior Vice President of Sales and BayoGaaS™ Hydrogen Hubs. “We are proud Chevron has chosen our high-pressure transport solutions to support their hydrogen distribution network.”
Since 2001, BayoTech has provided over 600 high-pressure transport and storage systems to the world’s major hydrogen, natural gas, nitrogen, and helium manufacturers and distributors.
HyFill bulk hydrogen transport trailers utilize high-capacity Type III composite cylinders to transport up to three times more compressed gaseous hydrogen per load than conventional steel tube trailers. Greater payloads reduce transportation costs and improve driver efficiency. Premier safety features include fast venting cylinders, innovative thermally-activated pressure relief mechanisms, welded manifold connections for leak protection, and emergency shut down systems for on-site NFPA compliance.
