Daimler Trucks will receive liquid hydrogen and an improved refueling system from Air Liquide for its prototype heavy-duty vehicles.
Daimler Trucks has chosen Air Liquide to refuel the liquid hydrogen-powered heavy duty trucks, and as part of the agreement, the company will develop a new refueling system.
The system will be housed on Daimler Truck’s testing grounds. The liquid hydrogen supplied will be produced at one of Air Liquide’s liquefaction plants.
Because liquid hydrogen has a higher energy density than gaseous hydrogen, its use could double the range and capabilities of heavy-duty long-haul trucks (between 1.7 and 2.5 times more than 700 and 350 bar).
