DEME Group, Fluxys, and Antwerp Port team up on green hydrogen production facility in Egypt

A green hydrogen production and storage facility will be built in Egypt along the Mediterranean Sea by a Belgian partnership of energy and green hydrogen-related businesses.

The DEME Group, Fluxys, and Antwerp Port collaboration has established a feasibility study for the project.

According to the project, the first phase will involve producing 800 megawatts of solar energy and 700 megawatts of wind energy. The first phase will set a carbon dioxide limit of 600,000 tons.

Additionally, the Belgian partnership intends to construct 500 megawatt electrolysis equipment close to Gargoub Port in Marsa Matrouh, with the export of its output to Europe.
