EDP Renováveis has secured a 74 MW Solar PV project with a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) through its subsidiary EDP Renewables North America.
The project is located in the U.S. state of North Carolina in detail and is scheduled to begin operations in 2022.
With EDPR’s current solar assets in operation and 1,5 GW of new solar projects already underway, EDPR’s portfolio will expand its technical diversification and cross 1,8 GW of solar capacity build-out by 2022.
With this new agreement, EDPR has secured 87 percent of the ~7 GW of targeted global wind and solar capacity build-out for the 2019-2022 period, as announced in the Strategic Update in March 2019.
