Elcogen recently secured a €24.9 million grant from the European Union’s 2024 Innovation Fund.
This funding will accelerate the production of solid oxide electrolyser cells and fuel cells at their Estonian facility, significantly enhancing green hydrogen production capacity. This initiative is a crucial part of Europe’s broader strategy to transition to renewable energy, making green hydrogen a pivotal element in this shift.
The EU Innovation Fund, one of the largest global programs dedicated to low-carbon technologies, awarded this grant to Elcogen. With a budget of €4.8 billion for 2024, the fund selected 85 projects aimed at cutting greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 476 million tonnes of CO₂ over the next decade. These projects cover various sectors, including renewable energy and energy storage, aligning with the EU’s climate goals. Elcogen’s technologies, which produce green hydrogen and emission-free electricity, exemplify the Fund’s vision for a carbon-neutral Europe.
Elcogen is well-positioned to aid Europe in reaching its ambitious energy goals with its scalable green hydrogen solutions. The company’s advancements are crucial for decarbonizing Europe’s economy and present opportunities for clean industrial growth and job creation.
