Emerson will be joining forces with Australian company H2 Hauler to provide an integrated hydrogen mobility business management system.
Known for its creation and certification of storage and distribution equipment for compressed hydrogen, H2 Hauler has chosen Emerson for its extensive automation portfolio, mobility solutions, and hydrogen expertise.
Low-emissions hydrogen, hailed by more than 40 countries as a means to hasten the transition to sustainable energy, calls for a set of tools and infrastructural systems to ensure the safe and reliable transportation and storage of high-pressure hydrogen. This hydrogen could be used in industrial facilities, power generators, or fueling stations.
Emerson is set to completely automate H2 Hauler’s loading and monitoring systems, oversee custody transfer, and supervise trailer tube assets. This holistic approach is part of the effort to enable the safe and sustainable transport of hydrogen.
As H2 Hauler continues to expand their operations in hydrogen road transport and storage manufacturing, the company’s CEO Tyson Cooney, has expressed confidence in Emerson’s automation technologies and software. He is optimistic about these providing the support needed for not only safe storage and distribution, but also the management of the vital chain of custody and auditing capabilities. This is an area Cooney believes is critical in exhibiting the influence of this emerging industry.
Emerson’s robust tools that include its DeltaV ™ PK Controller, fire and gas systems, valves, actuators, and regulators will be utilized to enhance H2 Hauler’s hydrogen dispensing skids and trailer onboard units. With the addition of a secure, cloud-based data platform, Emerson will allow for the remote management and viewing of equipment — affording real-time data for optimal operational performance.
