Eon, the energy group, is set to build a hydrogen production facility in Essen, within the Ruhr region.
A subsidiary, Eon Hydrogen, plans to establish an electrolyzer with a 20 MW generation capacity at Essen’s city harbor.
The project is in the advanced planning stages. Hydrogen production is aimed to commence in 2027. The facility will produce around 2,300 tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
