The Clean Hydrogen Partnership has announced its 2025 Call for Proposals under the Horizon Europe programme. With a total budget of €184.5 million, this initiative aims to accelerate innovation in hydrogen technology, emphasizing climate neutrality and competitive advancement throughout Europe.

This call signifies the Clean Hydrogen Partnership’s commitment to advancing renewable hydrogen technologies across the continent.

The initiative will direct funding towards achieving cost-effective renewable hydrogen production, developing efficient hydrogen storage solutions, and delivering reliable fuel cell systems for heavy-duty vehicles and maritime applications. The RePowerEU Plan also allocates €80 million for the development of Hydrogen Valleys, which are integrated hydrogen ecosystems, across Europe.

Valerie Bouillon-Delporte, Executive Director of the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, emphasized the importance of ongoing investment in research and innovation to strengthen Europe’s hydrogen value chain. The call is designed to address market challenges like reducing production costs, improving safety, and enhancing infrastructure. The allocation includes €40 million for renewable hydrogen production, €16 million for storage and distribution, €17 million for transport, €5 million for heat and power, €6.5 million for cross-cutting activities, and €80 million specifically for Hydrogen Valleys.

Interested parties can learn more about the available projects and submission details during an information day hosted by Clean Hydrogen in Brussels on January 22, ahead of the April 23, 2025 deadline for applications.
