EverWind Fuels, a Canadian energy company, has reached a milestone in its pursuit of green hydrogen and ammonia production with the completion of the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) for the initial phase of a transformative project in Nova Scotia.
The CAD-6-billion green hydrogen and ammonia production project, situated in Nova Scotia’s Point Tupper region, represents a crucial step towards Canada’s transition to a low-carbon economy. EverWind aims to leverage renewable energy sources to produce 240,000 tonnes of ammonia annually, with the first phase slated for completion by 2026.
The successful completion of the FEED, coupled with the Front-End Loading Engineering (FEL-3), underscores EverWind’s commitment to employing cutting-edge technology and engineering solutions. Partnering with renowned engineering and construction firm Black & Veatch, EverWind has amassed over 110,000 hours of engineering expertise, laying the groundwork for future project phases.
The Point Tupper development holds immense potential to bolster Canada’s position in the global green hydrogen market. With plans to supply hydrogen to prominent German energy giants E.on SE and Uniper SE, EverWind’s initiative transcends national boundaries, fostering international collaboration in the pursuit of sustainable energy solutions.
