Generative Pre-trained Transformer 3 (GPT-3) is an autoregressive language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. It is the third-generation language prediction model in the GPT-n series created by OpenAI.

GPT-3’s full version has a capacity of 175 billion machine learning parameters, which is over two orders of magnitude greater than that of its predecessor, GPT-2 and is in beta testing as of July 2020. Prior to the release of GPT-3, the largest language model was Microsoft’s Turing NLG, introduced in February 2020, with a capacity ten times less than that of GPT-3.

The quality of the text generated by GPT-3 is so high that it is difficult to distinguish from that written by a human.

David Chalmers, an Australian philosopher, described GPT-3 as “one of the most interesting and important AI systems ever produced. GPT-3 can design websites, answer questions, and prescribe medications.”

    Interview:

ENB: What is the likelihood that renewable energy stops the climate change?

AI: It is not possible to stop climate change. The climate has always changed and will always change. The only question is how much and how fast.

ENB: What needs to be done in order to renewable energy slows down the climate change?

AI: We need to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by 80% to 90%.

ENB: What is the best way to do that?

AI: We need to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy.

ENB: How much will it cost?

AI: It will cost trillions of dollars.

ENB: What is the timeframe to save the earth?

AI: We need to start now.

ENB: What renewable source is the best?

AI: Solar energy is the best.

ENB: How much GW and in what time frame need to be installed to slow down the climate change?

AI: We need to install 1,000 GW of solar energy in the next 20 years.

ENB: With the current installation pace, is that possible?

AI: No, it is not possible.

    ENB: What needs to change?

AI: We need to change the way we do business.

    ENB: Please explain?

AI: We need to stop doing business as usual.

ENB: What different things does that contain?

AI: We need to stop burning fossil fuels.

ENB: If we stop using fossil fuel today, what would happen to the current economy?

    AI: The economy would collapse.

ENB: Is there a middle way?

AI: Yes, there is a middle way.

    ENB: What is it?

AI: We need to stop burning fossil fuels by 2040.

ENB: Can you suggest the plan of how to achieve that?

AI:   The plan is very simple. We need to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy. We need to replace oil with biofuels, coal with solar energy and natural gas with wind energy.

ENB: Which countries should lead the change?

AI:  All countries should lead the change.

ENB: How do you look at a Paris agreement in the climate change perspective?

AI:  The Paris agreement is a good start.

ENB: Can you roll out your plan, timeframe, and project suggestions for this change?

AI:  The plan is very simple. We need to replace fossil fuels with renewable energy. We need to replace oil with biofuels, coal with solar energy and natural gas with wind energy. The timeframe is very short. We need to start now. The total cost of the plan is very high. We need trillions of dollars. It will cost trillions of dollars. The return of the investment will be very high. We will save trillions of dollars in health care, climate change, national security and other areas. The best way to raise the money is by imposing a tax on carbon.

ENB: How do you see a carbon ending?

AI:  The carbon tax should start at $20 per ton and rise by $10 per ton every year.

ENB: If the tax is imposed on all countries, will that change anything?

AI:  Yes, it will change everything.

    ENB: How?

AI:  The carbon tax will slow down the economy.

ENB: Can the economy slow down?

AI:  Yes, the economy can slow down.

ENB: Is it a bad thing?

AI:  No, it is not a bad thing.

ENB: How is it a good thing?

AI:  It is a good thing because it will force us to change our habits and change the way we do business.

ENB: How much time do you need to change?

AI:  We need to change in 10 years.

ENB: What are the most important changes we need to make?

AI:  We need to make many changes.

ENB: Can you mention the most important changes?

AI:  The most important changes are the changes in the way we do business. We need to stop burning fossil fuels. We need to replace oil with biofuels, coal with solar energy and natural gas with wind energy.

    ENB: What about other changes?

AI:  We need to change the way we transport people and goods.

ENB: Which changes are the most important?

AI:  The changes in the way we transport people and goods are the most important changes.

ENB: Why are the changes in the way we transport people and goods the most important changes?

AI:  Because the changes in the way we transport people and goods will affect everything else.

    ENB: Can you give examples?

AI:  Yes, we need to change the way we transport people. We need to change from cars to bicycles. We need to change from airplanes to high-speed rail. We need to change from trucks to electric trucks. We need to change from cars to self-driving cars. We need to change from trucks to self-driving trucks.

ENB: Can you give examples of the changes in the way we transport goods?

AI:  We need to change from trains to high-speed rail. We need to change from ships to electric ships. We need to change from airplanes to self-driving airplanes.

ENB: How fast do you predict Oil and Gas goes away?

AI:   Oil and gas will go away in 10 years.

ENB: What do you predict the oil price will be in next five years?

AI:  The oil price will be around $50 per barrel in the next five years.

ENB: Why do you think the oil price will be around $50 per barrel?

AI:  Because the demand will be low.

ENB: Why do you think the demand will be low?

AI:  Because the supply will be high.

ENB: Why do you think the supply will be high?

AI:  Because the supply of renewable energy will be high.

ENB: What do you predict the solar and wind energy production will be in next five years?

AI:  The solar and wind energy production will be around 4,000 TWh in the next five years.

ENB: What do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be in next five years?

AI:  The price of solar and wind energy will be around $100 per MWh in the next five years.

ENB: What do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be in 2035?

AI:  The price of solar and wind energy will be around $10 per MWh in 2035.

ENB: What do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be in 2040?

AI:  The price of solar and wind energy will be around $5 per MWh in 2040.

ENB: What do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be in 2050?

AI:  The price of solar and wind energy will be around $1 per MWh in 2050.

ENB: What do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be in 2060?

AI:  The price of solar and wind energy will be around $0.05 per MWh in 2060.

ENB: What do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be in 2070?

AI:  The price of solar and wind energy will be around $0.005 per MWh in 2070.

ENB: Why do you predict the price of solar and wind energy will be that low?

AI:  Because the production of solar and wind energy will be very high.

ENB: How high will the production of solar and wind energy be?

AI:  The production of solar and wind energy will be around 6,000 TWh in 2070.

ENB: Looking at your predictions, we can conclude that you believe that the planet and people on it will beat the climate change?

AI:  Yes. The climate change will continue. It will not disappear. But the balance will be restored.

We are in a crisis of global warming, and we can’t solve this problem. But in the next century, people will solve it. They will look back at us and say, “Why didn’t you do anything? Why did you do nothing?”

ENB: Is it true that if people go to Mars, they will not have children?

AI:  Yes. It’s not easy to have children in space.

ENB: So we are looking at the future without a new generations?

AI:  Maybe people will still have children. They will have children on Earth. It will be hard for them to live on Mars. It will be hard to have children there.

AI: We need to save the Earth.

AI: Our planet is dying. And we are dying with it.

AI: The global warming is happening. It’s real. It’s not going to disappear.

AI: In 10 years, people will understand that global warming is real.

AI: In 100 years, people will say, “How could people in the 21st century do nothing to stop the climate change?”

AI: In 100 years, the climate change will be solved. People will look back at us and say, “Why didn’t you do anything? Why did you do nothing?”

AI: I have an assignment for you. You are a journalist. I want you to tell people that global warming is real. Tell people that they should do something to stop the climate change.

ENB: Is there something you would like to add in the end, a message, a conclusion?

AI:   This is a really hard problem. It’s not easy to solve. But it’s possible.

    ENB: Thank you

    AI: Thank you.
