SAIC has granted Faurecia a contract to supply hydrogen tanks for a large fleet of commercial vehicles.
With this new award from China’s leading vehicle manufacturer, Faurecia 1 can announce that it has received over €250 million in lifetime sales to date, putting it on track to meet its goal of €500 million in order intake for zero-emission hydrogen solutions in 2021.
Along with this newest award for SAIC, Faurecia and Symbio, its joint venture with Michelin, will provide Safra and Stellantis with fuel cell stacks and hydrogen storage systems for light commercial vehicles, buses, and commercial vehicles. Starting this summer, Faurecia will equip about 1,600 Hyundai heavy duty trucks that will be delivered to Hyundai Hydrogen Mobility in Switzerland over a four-year period. Earlier this year, Faurecia and Renault declared their intention to work together on hydrogen storage systems for hydrogen light commercial cars.
Hydrogen mobility will play a crucial role in depolluting transportation and logistics since it is well-suited to commercial, heavy-duty, on- and off-road vehicles, as well as high-horsepower engines. Faurecia is well-positioned to satisfy growing demand for zero-emissions hydrogen mobility solutions internationally and become a world leader with sales of over €3.5 billion in 2030, having mastered over 75% of the fuel cell value chain.
