France Hydrogène and H2 Chile have forged a strategic alliance aimed at fostering collaboration and accelerating the growth of the green hydrogen sector in France and Chile.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU), signed during the Hyvolution Exhibition at the Chilean Embassy in France, marks a pivotal moment in the journey towards sustainable energy transition.
Chilean Energy Minister Diego Pardow emphasizes the crucial role of green hydrogen in Chile’s pursuit of carbon neutrality by 2050. The MoU builds upon the existing Chile-France joint declaration on Low Carbon Hydrogen, signed in 2021, signifying a deepening commitment between the two nations towards clean energy development and environmental preservation. Minister Pardow sees the agreement as a testament to the confidence in collaborative efforts to promote green hydrogen deployment, leveraging both public and private initiatives.
Philippe Boucly, President of France Hydrogène, expresses enthusiasm for expanding collaboration with H2 Chile to strengthen ties between hydrogen sector associations. Recognizing Chile’s immense potential for a thriving hydrogen economy, Boucly highlights existing partnerships between French and Chilean entities. The joint efforts facilitated by the MoU aim to harness bilateral cooperation in driving economic decarbonization.
Executive Director of H2 Chile, Marcos Kulka, underscores the significance of aligning with France Hydrogène, a prominent association in Europe, which serves as a key market for Chilean exports of green hydrogen and derivatives. Kulka envisions the alliance as a platform for knowledge exchange and potential agreements, facilitating the transition towards decarbonized economies and environmental sustainability. With a collective network of over 600 partners spanning various industries, the coalition aims to offer comprehensive insights into hydrogen technology, infrastructure, and application.
